The Story

Why the Joice matters

The Joice was a seven-seat compact MPV that Kia sold as the Carstar in South Korea and exported as the Joice. The 1999 arrival of the Carstar and the Carens completed Kia's minivan line next to the 1998 Carnival. It had a 2.0-litre (1,997 cc) four-cylinder petrol engine and front-wheel drive, and shared its underpinnings with the Hyundai Santamo. A facelift for Europe is dated 2001. Production is listed as 1999 to 2002, and the second-generation Carens replaced it.
