STORY

Kia unveiled the Niro as a hybrid at the Chicago Auto Show in February 2016 and called it a hybrid utility vehicle. The all-electric version appeared in 2018 at the electric vehicle expo in Jeju with a 64 kWh battery, and the US EPA rated it at 239 miles. The second generation was unveiled at the Seoul Mobility Show on 25 November 2021, and its electric version uses a 64.8 kWh battery, with Kia quoting a provisional range of up to 463 km on the WLTP cycle. In Europe the electric car is sold as the e-Niro, and as the Niro EV in Asia and North America.
