STORY

The Kia Potentia was a rear-drive executive sedan sold only in South Korea, built from 1992 on the body of the HC-generation Mazda Luce. Kia changed the grille and front bumper, gave the rear bumper a different trim strip, and built it at Hwasung. The base engine was Mazda's 2.0-litre FE four, and the President version carried a 3.0-litre V6. It was aimed at the Hyundai Grandeur. A facelift of 1997 (some say about 1998) added a 2.5-litre V6 and an LPG 2.0, and the Enterprise followed as a larger Kia sedan. Production ended in 2002 by most accounts, though some say the Potentia ran only through 2001.
