STORY

The Kia Ray is a boxy five-door A-segment car built for South Korea only. Kia released the first official images on 9 November 2011, and the petrol Ray, with a 998 cc three-cylinder engine, went on sale. On 22 December 2011 Kia presented the Ray EV as Korea's first production electric vehicle: a 50 kW motor, a 16.4 kWh lithium-ion polymer pack, a maximum range of 139 km as quoted by Kia, about six hours on 220 V and 25 minutes on fast charge. The first run was about 2,500 cars for government agencies, planned for 2012.
