STORY

The Rio name began in 1999, when Kia presented the first-generation DC as a successor to the Pride. In South Korea that was the only generation to carry the Rio name: the second generation of 2005 was sold there as the New Pride and the third of 2011 as the All-New Pride, both being the Rio abroad. The third generation debuted at the Geneva show on 1 March 2011. The fourth, the YB, had its world premiere at the Paris show on 29 September 2016, with a 1.0-litre three-cylinder T-GDI engine among the choices.
