The Sonet 1.0 T-GDi DCT is a first-generation SUV with five doors and five seats, sold from 2020. A 1.0-litre turbocharged three-cylinder Kappa petrol engine makes 120 PS and 172 Nm, and a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox sends it to the front wheels.

STORY

Kia showed the Sonet as a concept at Auto Expo in February 2020 and unveiled the production car on 7 August 2020. Production began at Anantapur in India on 4 September, and sales there started on 18 September 2020 with a 1.2-litre petrol, a 1.0-litre turbo petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel on offer. The facelift was revealed in India in December 2023, with bookings from 20 December, and reached showrooms in January 2024.
