STORY

The Stinger grew out of the GT concept shown at Frankfurt in 2011. The production car was unveiled at the Detroit show in January 2017, engineered under Albert Biermann, formerly of BMW M. In the US the twin-turbo 3.3-litre V6 was later rated at 368 hp. In October 2022 a Korean report said production would end in April 2023. On 21 December 2022 Kia announced a 1,000-unit Tribute Edition and said production was ending. Through September 2022 only 1,499 had been sold in South Korea.
