STORY
The Agera, unveiled at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show, was the successor to the CCX and the car that defined Koenigsegg's modern era. Its name comes from the Swedish verb "agera" (to act), and it introduced the in-house 5.0-litre twin-turbo V8 that would go on to power almost every subsequent Koenigsegg. The engine produced around 960 PS in early form, with later variants pushing well beyond that. Top Gear magazine named it Hypercar of the Year for 2010.
The Agera also introduced technologies that became Koenigsegg hallmarks, including hollow carbon-fibre "Aircore" wheels and the Vortex Generating Rims. Produced in a series of increasingly extreme variants that included the Agera R, Agera S and the One:1, it remained in production until 2018, when the final Agera cars were revealed at the Goodwood Festival of Speed before the model gave way to the Jesko.
