STORY

The Land Rover Discovery launched in 1989 as a more family-friendly, affordable model slotting between the utilitarian Defender and the luxury Range Rover. Across five generations it grew from a Range Rover Classic-based SUV into a seven-seat vehicle, adopting a lightweight aluminium monocoque with the fifth-generation L462 in 2017. It has remained a mainstay of the range, combining off-road ability with everyday practicality.
