STORY
The ES has been the core of Lexus's saloon range since the brand's 1989 launch, offering a comfort-oriented front-wheel-drive alternative to the rear-drive GS and IS. Long based on the Toyota Camry platform, it evolved from a badge-engineered sedan into a refined executive car, adopting hybrid power and eventually replacing the GS as Lexus's core mid-size saloon. It has been especially popular in North America and Asia.
