Cup 250

S3 · 2017–2021RWD

The Cup 250 continued into 2017-2021 as the hardcore Series 3 model, its supercharged 1.8-litre Toyota four producing about 243 bhp. Fixed rear wing, front splitter and low mass kept it the most track-oriented Elise.

STORY

The Lotus Elise, launched in 1996, was a compact mid-engined roadster built around a bonded and extruded aluminium chassis, reviving Lotus's lightweight ethos and reviving the company's fortunes. The Series 1 used a Rover K-series engine, while the Series 2 from 2001 later adopted Toyota power, and the Series 3 continued the formula with styling and equipment updates. Production ran through several evolutions until 2021.
