The Voyager was built in the late 1990s with a four-cylinder diesel engine. The Xylo was launched in India in January 2009, with sales starting in March, to compete with the Toyota Innova and the Chevrolet Tavera. It was loosely based on the ladder-frame platform of the Mahindra Scorpio and was assembled at Nashik. It used a 2.5-litre diesel, and from 2012 also a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel with 120 PS. In June 2019 Mahindra announced that the Xylo would end production, citing stricter crash-safety and BS-VI emission standards.
The Mahindra MPV entry covers the Indian maker's multi-purpose vehicles: the Voyager, built in the late 1990s, and the Xylo, built from 2009 to 2019. Both used four-cylinder diesel engines.
