Biturbo 420 · 1986–1988

The 420i was the fuel-injected version of the Biturbo-based four-door saloon, replacing the earlier carburettor setup with Weber-Marelli electronic injection. It retained the 1996cc twin-turbo V6 in two-litre form for the Italian market, gaining smoother running and easier cold starting. It was built from 1986 to 1988.

STORY

The Maserati 420 was a compact four-door saloon built in the mid-1980s as part of the Biturbo-derived family. It carried twin-turbocharged V6 power and was aimed at the executive sedan market. The line evolved into later 4-series and Quattroporte-adjacent saloons of the era.
