The larger-engined Maserati Mexico, a Vignale 2+2 coupe with Michelotti styling on a shortened Quattroporte-derived platform, the marque's first two-door V8 road car. Its 4719cc quad-cam V8 produced around 290 hp through a ZF five-speed or automatic gearbox. It appeared at launch in 1966, and 175 of the 485 Mexicos built used the 4.7-litre unit.

The Maserati Mexico was a four-seat grand tourer produced from 1966 to 1973, styled by Vignale. It was powered by Maserati's quad-cam V8 in 4.2 and 4.7-litre forms mounted at the front. Roughly 480 examples were built.
