STORY

The Mazda 929, sold in Japan as the Luce, was Mazda's flagship large sedan. Early 1970s versions offered Wankel rotary power, giving way to more conventional piston-engined luxury saloons aimed at export markets in the 1980s and '90s. It served as the brand's top model before the Millenia/Xedos line took over.
