STORY

The Autozam AZ-1 was a mid-engined kei sports car sold under Mazda's Autozam marque, instantly recognisable for its gullwing doors and fibreglass body. Power came from a turbocharged 657 cc Suzuki three-cylinder mounted amidships, making it the wildest of the 1990s kei sports 'ABC' trio. Its high price and limited practicality made it a slow seller but a cult classic today.
