STORY

The CX-50 is a compact crossover launched in 2022 and built at the Mazda-Toyota joint plant in Huntsville, Alabama, primarily for the North American market. Riding on Mazda's Small Product platform, it is pitched as a more rugged, outdoor-oriented companion to the CX-5, with a lower, wider stance and greater off-road capability. Powertrains include a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter Skyactiv-G, a 2.5-liter turbo, and, from 2024, a hybrid using Toyota's hybrid system.
