STORY

Launched in 1989, the MX-5 (Miata/Roadster) revived the affordable lightweight roadster and became the best-selling two-seat sports car in history. Built around Mazda's front-engine, rear-drive 'jinba ittai' philosophy of driver-and-car unity, it has run continuously across four generations, prized for balance and low weight over outright power.
