STORY

The RX-8 (2003-2012) was Mazda's rotary successor to the RX-7, a four-seat sports car with distinctive rear-hinged 'freestyle' doors. Powered by the naturally aspirated Renesis 13B-MSP, it was praised for its balance and handling but hampered by heavy fuel and oil consumption, and it ended Mazda's rotary road-car production for over a decade.
