STORY

The McLaren 675LT, launched in 2015, revived the "Longtail" name from the 1997 F1 GTR Longtail and became the model that re-established LT as McLaren's most focused sub-brand. Based on the 650S, it was a lighter, more track-oriented Super Series car, with around a third of its components unique to it.

Its 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged M838T V8 (in M838TL form) was uprated to 675 PS, fed by new turbochargers, camshafts and a revised exhaust, while a lengthened tail, larger airbrake and extensive carbon-fibre bodywork cut weight and boosted downforce. Produced in strictly limited numbers, the 675LT is regarded as one of the most engaging McLarens of its generation and the car that defined the LT formula for those that followed.
