The McL 6GT concept was revealed at Monterey Car Week in August 2026. It takes its name and proportions from the M6GT, a road car that Bruce McLaren, the company's founder, planned in the late 1960s but never put into production.
The concept has a low, wide body with a long roof, a Kammback tail, drop-down headlights and a canopy-style rear window. It sits on a carbon-fibre monocoque, uses a V8 and drives the rear wheels through a manual gearbox, which would be the first in a McLaren road car since the F1 of 1992.
McLaren says a production version is planned for 2028, above its core range. Power, weight and price have not been announced.
