STORY
The Mercedes-Benz CLC-Class was a three-door compact sports coupé produced from 2008 to 2011 as a heavily revised continuation of the earlier C-Class Sport Coupé (CL203), itself introduced in 2001. Rather than an all-new car, the CLC carried over the Sport Coupé's fastback hatchback body and W203 underpinnings while receiving new front and rear styling, an updated interior and a refreshed engine range spanning the supercharged CLC 180 and 200 Kompressor four-cylinders up to the CLC 350 V6. It served as Mercedes' entry-level coupé, positioned below the CLK and aimed at younger buyers, and was assembled in Bremen and later Brazil. The model was discontinued in 2011 without a direct replacement, its role effectively absorbed by the new W204-based C-Class Coupé. It remains a transitional footnote in the brand's coupé lineage.
