STORY
The EQB is the all-electric counterpart to the boxy GLB compact SUV, launched in 2021 in China and rolled out globally in 2022 as part of the EQ sub-brand. Built on the same MFA2-derived architecture, it retained the GLB's upright packaging and offered a rare three-row, seven-seat option among electric SUVs of its size. Early cars were dual-motor 4MATIC EQB 300 and EQB 350 models, joined at the 2023 update by the single-motor, longer-range EQB 250+ entry variant. Positioned as a practical, family-oriented electric Mercedes, it slotted below the larger EQC and EQE SUVs. It remains on sale as Mercedes transitions its EQ line toward a new naming and platform strategy.
