STORY

The EQS SUV, launched in 2022, is the sport-utility flagship of Mercedes-Benz's electric EQ range, sharing the bespoke EVA2 platform and much of the technology of the EQS sedan. Assembled in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, it pairs a spacious three-row cabin with the marque's Hyperscreen dashboard and a long-range battery, offered as the rear-drive EQS 450+, the all-wheel-drive EQS 450 4MATIC and the range-topping EQS 580 4MATIC. It represents Mercedes' attempt to translate S-Class luxury into a full-size electric SUV, competing with the BMW iX and Cadillac Escalade IQ. Aerodynamically optimized and lavishly appointed, it stands as one of the most opulent electric SUVs on sale. It remains in production as a cornerstone of the brand's electric lineup.
