STORY
Mercedes put its electric GLC on stage at IAA Mobility in Munich in September 2025, and the name itself was the news: no EQ badge, but the GLC name plus the words with EQ Technology. It was the first core model on the MB.EA architecture and, by the company's account, the first series-production car in the next stage of its design language. One version opened the range, the GLC 400 4MATIC with EQ Technology, with a motor on each axle for 360 kW and 800 Nm, a 94 kWh battery, an 800-volt system taking more than 320 kW on direct current and a WLTP range quoted up to 713 km. Bremen was named as the first plant, with production planned for the first quarter of 2026 and long-wheelbase versions for China to follow in Beijing; in April 2026 Mercedes said the car had drawn more orders in its first three months than any other electric vehicle in its history.
