STORY
The Vitoria van line went back to IMOSA, which built the DKW F 1000 L under licence and then the Mercedes-Benz N 1000 and N 1300, and the first MB 100 and MB 130 appeared in September 1980. A new generation, the MB 100 to MB 180 range with payloads of 1,000 to 1,800 kg, was presented on Majorca on 15 and 16 January 1987, and the German-market MB 100 D had its home premiere at the Frankfurt show that September. Spanish production ran until the Vito replaced it in 1995 to 1996. In April 1995 SsangYong started series production of a van developed with Mercedes on the MB 100 basis at Pyeongtaek, sold in Korea as the Istana and from early 1996 as the MB 100, MB 140 and MB 180 through Mercedes outlets elsewhere in Asia; Korean output ran to the end of 2003.
