STORY

The CLA 45 AMG was unveiled at the New York show on 27 March 2013, four doors over the same 2.0-litre M133 turbo as the A 45, built under AMG's one man, one engine rule and rated at 360 PS; the sales release came in July 2013 and the market launch that September. In March 2016 the facelifted CLA 45 moved up to 381 PS and 475 Nm. The C118 generation widened the line: the CLA 35 4MATIC had its premiere at the New York show on 16 April 2019 with 306 PS, and the CLA 45 and CLA 45 S presented in July 2019 used the new M139, the S version with 421 PS. In July 2026 the badge went electric, the AMG CLA 45 4MATIC+ being unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed with three axial-flux motors and 500 kW.
