CLE 53 AMG 4MATIC+

STORY

The CLE took over from four cars at once, the C-Class and E-Class coupes and cabriolets, so its AMG line replaced two of them at once, the C 43 and C 63 coupes and cabriolets and the E 53. Coupe production started in October 2023, and on 5 December 2023 Mercedes-AMG presented the CLE 53 4MATIC+ Coupe from Affalterbach: a 3.0-litre turbocharged straight-six with an electric auxiliary compressor and 48-volt assistance, 330 kW plus 17 kW of electric boost, with fully variable all-wheel drive and rear-axle steering as standard. The Cabriolet joined in 2024 and got the same AMG treatment. A V8 came later and in small numbers: in September 2026 AMG unveiled the CLE 646 Spezialanfertigung, rear-wheel drive, 475 kW from a 4.0-litre biturbo V8, a titanium exhaust and a run of 30 cars, all sold before delivery.
