GLS 63 AMG 4MATIC+

STORY

The AMG version of the full-size SUV took the GLS name in November 2015, when the facelifted X166 dropped the GL badge; the GLS 63 kept the 5.5-litre M157 biturbo, now at 430 kW (585 PS), and production of the reworked range began in January 2016. The second body, X167, reached the AMG range in November 2019, when the GLS 63 4MATIC+ was shown at the Los Angeles show with the 4.0-litre M177 biturbo at 450 kW (612 PS), an EQ Boost starter-generator worth up to 16 kW, a nine-speed Speedshift TCT gearbox and active roll stabilisation. The facelift of 2023 reshaped the grille and the tail-light graphics and left the output alone.
