STORY
The T-Class arrived in 2022 as the small passenger van from Mercedes-Benz, a more premium sibling to the Citan. Like it, it is built on the third-generation Renault Kangoo's CMF-CD platform through the Mercedes-Renault alliance. It was planned as a family-oriented 'leisure activity vehicle' for active urban buyers. It launched as a five-seater, with a longer seven-seat version planned, and had turbocharged four-cylinder petrol (T 160, T 180) and diesel (T 180 d) engines. The fully electric EQT was added to widen its appeal. It sits below the larger Vito-based V-Class and gave Mercedes a foothold in the compact leisure-van niche. In 2025 the company announced that the T-Class and Citan, along with their electric versions, would be discontinued in 2026, so this was a short chapter.
