STORY

The Lynx was built from 1981 to 1987 as the Mercury counterpart to the first-generation Ford Escort. It was a front-wheel-drive subcompact offered as a hatchback and a wagon. Versions ranged from the GS and the sporty RS, later called XR3, to a 2.0-litre diesel offered from 1984.
