The ZT was launched by MG Rover in 2001 as a sporty reworking of the Rover 75 executive saloon, with sharper suspension, bold styling and a more driver-focused character. The range peaked with the ZT 260, which had a 4.6-litre V8 derived from the Ford Mustang driving the rear wheels, very different from the front-drive base cars. Production ended in 2005 when MG Rover collapsed.
The MG ZT was the sporting flagship saloon based on the Rover 75, including a rear-drive V8 version.
