STORY
The Clubman name dates to 1969, when British Leyland's Roy Haynes restyled the classic Mini with a squared-off nose. The Clubman Estate, with its long roof, was built until 1982. BMW brought the name back in 2007 for the third variant of the modern Mini (R55). It was an extended hatch that was easy to recognise by its split 'barn door' rear and, at first, an extra rear-hinged 'Clubdoor' on one side.
The second-generation Clubman (F54), launched in 2015, became a true six-door estate with four conventional passenger doors, and it kept the split rear doors. Production ended in February 2024 with a Final Edition limited to 1,969 cars, a reference to the 1969 original, as Mini shifted its focus to its new, increasingly electric range.
