STORY
The Countryman is the biggest Mini and the brand's first crossover. Launched in 2010 as the R60, it was the first BMW-era Mini with five doors and the first offered with all-wheel drive, marketed as ALL4. It moved Mini into the compact-crossover segment while keeping the family's signature nimble character, and it revived the historic Countryman name once worn by the classic Mini estate.
The Countryman also carried Mini back into top-flight rallying: the Mini John Cooper Works WRC, developed with Prodrive on the Cooper S ALL4, contested the World Rally Championship in 2011 and 2012. The model grew with the second-generation F60 in 2017 and again with the third generation launched in 2023, which added fully electric variants, cementing the Countryman as Mini's most practical and versatile model.
