STORY

Mitsubishi first showed the idea as the SSW (Super Space Wagon) concept at the 1979 Tokyo Motor Show, and the production Chariot followed in February 1983, after Nissan's Prairie. It had three rows of seats; the second row could turn to face the third and both rows folded flat. Abroad the first generation was sold as the Space Wagon. The second generation arrived in 1991, and the Chariot Grandis of 1997 was the third.
