STORY

The Diamante was a V6-only Mitsubishi hardtop sedan. The first generation went on sale in Japan in May 1990, was built at Nagoya, and used V6 engines of roughly 2.0, 2.5 and 3.0 litres. North America received it for the 1992 model year. A wagon built by Mitsubishi in Australia joined the range, and it was withdrawn from the US after 1995. A new, more luxurious Diamante came in 1995 in Japan and reached the US as a 1997 model, and the Australian-built wagon was last exported to Japan in 2001.
