FTO GPX 2.0 V6 MIVEC

STORY

The FTO was a coupe that Mitsubishi put on sale in Japan in October 1994 as the younger sibling of the GTO, reviving a name last used on a 1970s Galant coupe. It won Japan Car of the Year for 1994-95. The base GS used a 1.8-litre 4G93 four-cylinder of 125 PS, while the GR and GPX carried the 2.0-litre 6A12 V6, the GPX adding MIVEC variable valve timing for 200 PS. A facelift in 1997 brought a five-speed automatic to the more powerful versions. Sales ended in 2000.
