STORY

The Grandis name goes back to the 1997 Chariot Grandis. The standalone Grandis, launched in Japan in 2003, was a three-row minivan seating up to seven, with a 2.4-litre 4G69 MIVEC four-cylinder rated at 165 PS, front- or four-wheel drive in Japan, and a 2.0-litre diesel in some markets. The new Grandis, revealed in July 2025, is a compact SUV that shares its underpinnings with the Renault Symbioz and is built at Renault's plant in Valladolid, Spain. It was announced for Europe with hybrid power.
