STORY

Chrysler began selling a badge-engineered Mitsubishi pickup in the United States in 1979, first as the Dodge D50 and later as the Ram 50. From 1982 Mitsubishi sold the same truck itself in the United States as the Mighty Max. The Mitsubishi-built Ram 50 carried on until 1994, when Dodge chose to concentrate on its own Dakota, so the two nameplates stood in US showrooms side by side for twelve years. The last Mighty Max left US showrooms in 1996.
