The Minicab MiEV 16 kWh is the electric kei van introduced in 2011, sharing its drive battery, motor and inverter with the i-MiEV. A 30 kW (41 PS) motor with 196 Nm is fed by the larger of two batteries, giving a JC08 range of 150 km against 100 km for the 10.5 kWh version.

STORY

Mitsubishi introduced the Minicab in 1966 as a kei truck and later van, giving Japanese small businesses a low-cost, compact load carrier. Through successive generations it moved from 360 cc engines to 660 cc under kei rules, with the U61/U62 series running 1999-2014 on the 3G83 three-cylinder. In 2011 it gained the Minicab MiEV, an early electric commercial vehicle, and since 2014 the petrol versions have been rebadged Suzuki Every and Carry models.
