CY 2.0 Galant Fortis (CY4A)

The CY 2.0 Galant Fortis (CY4A) is the naturally aspirated sedan of the 2007 launch. Mitsubishi put it on sale in Japan on 23 August 2007 with the new 2.0-litre 4B11 MIVEC engine, rated 154 PS and 198 Nm, and a six-speed CVT with sport mode, in a body 4,570 mm long and 1,760 mm wide. Front-wheel drive was standard and four-wheel drive was offered.

STORY

The Lancer began in 1973 as a small Mitsubishi sedan and ran through many generations. Its sporting version, the 1600 GSR with a twin-carburettor 1.6-litre engine, won the Southern Cross Rally in 1973 and the Safari Rally in 1974, and the name later carried the Lancer Evolution. In early 2017 Mitsubishi North America said 2017 would be the last model year for the Lancer sedan and that production would end in August 2017, because there was less demand for sedans and the company wanted to concentrate on crossovers.
