The Lancer GT, called the GTS before 2012, is the sporty front-wheel-drive sedan of the United States range. It has the 2.4-litre 4B12 four-cylinder with 168 hp, which is 170 PS, and 167 lb-ft, which is 226 Nm, with a five-speed manual or a CVT with paddle shifters. The GT adds a sport-tuned suspension, 18-inch wheels, a rear spoiler and the front fascia of the Ralliart.

STORY

The Lancer began in 1973 as a small Mitsubishi sedan and ran through many generations. Its sporting version, the 1600 GSR with a twin-carburettor 1.6-litre engine, won the Southern Cross Rally in 1973 and the Safari Rally in 1974, and the name later carried the Lancer Evolution. In early 2017 Mitsubishi North America said 2017 would be the last model year for the Lancer sedan and that production would end in August 2017, because there was less demand for sedans and the company wanted to concentrate on crossovers.
