The Lancer SportBack 2.0 (CX4A) of 2011-2015 is the five-door hatchback after the 2011 facelift, which introduced the Evolution-style front grille. It keeps the naturally aspirated 2.0-litre 4B11 four-cylinder and differs from the 2007-2011 SportBack mainly in styling and updated equipment.

STORY

The Lancer began in 1973 as a small Mitsubishi sedan and ran through many generations. Its sporting version, the 1600 GSR with a twin-carburettor 1.6-litre engine, won the Southern Cross Rally in 1973 and the Safari Rally in 1974, and the name later carried the Lancer Evolution. In early 2017 Mitsubishi North America said 2017 would be the last model year for the Lancer sedan and that production would end in August 2017, because there was less demand for sedans and the company wanted to concentrate on crossovers.
