Montero 3.5 V6

This is the 3.5-liter 6G74 V6 version of the second-generation Pajero/Montero (V20/V40 series, 1994-1999). The engine replaced the 3.0-liter V6 as the top petrol option, and it was the V6 fitted to North American Monteros through the late 1990s.

STORY

The first Pajero went on sale in 1982, and its first overall win in the Dakar Rally came in 1985 with Patrick Zaniroli. Between 1985 and 2007 Mitsubishi collected 12 overall Dakar wins, seven of them consecutive, and the Pajero was sold as the Montero in the United States. Mitsubishi ended production of the fourth-generation Pajero for Japan in August 2019, since meeting pedestrian-protection rules would have needed structural changes to the front end.
