Outlander 2.2 DI-D

Built in 2010-2012, this is the second-generation Outlander (CW) with the European 2.2 DI-D turbodiesel. The four-cylinder makes 156 PS and 380 Nm, drives all four wheels, and came with a six-speed manual or the six-speed Twin Clutch SST dual-clutch gearbox, in place of the petrol 2.4 and 3.0 V6.

STORY

The Outlander PHEV went on sale in Japan on 24 January 2013. It paired a 2.0-litre MIVEC petrol engine with a 12.0 kWh battery and two 60 kW electric motors, one on each axle. European sales began in 2013, and in 2020 it sold 26,673 units across Europe, the top-selling plug-in hybrid SUV there according to JATO Dynamics. The next generation brought a 20 kWh battery, with Japanese deliveries starting in December 2021.
