The Outlander 2.0 MIVEC 5MT is the base petrol version of the third-generation Outlander in Europe. Its 2.0-litre four-cylinder (4J11) makes 150 PS and drives the front wheels through a five-speed manual gearbox. It was sold from the 2012 launch until 2018.

STORY

The Outlander PHEV went on sale in Japan on 24 January 2013. It paired a 2.0-litre MIVEC petrol engine with a 12.0 kWh battery and two 60 kW electric motors, one on each axle. European sales began in 2013, and in 2020 it sold 26,673 units across Europe, the top-selling plug-in hybrid SUV there according to JATO Dynamics. The next generation brought a 20 kWh battery, with Japanese deliveries starting in December 2021.
