The Starion ESI-R Widebody 2.6 (A187A), sold from 1987 to 1989, paired the flared widebody with the 2.6-liter G54B intercooled turbocharged four-cylinder. STORY

The Starion was Mitsubishi's rear-drive turbo coupe, put on sale in Japan in May 1982 with a 2.0-litre SOHC four rated at 145 PS. In 1983 an air-to-air intercooler lifted the turbo to 175 PS. The GSR-V of 1984 added the Sirius Dash 3x2 engine with a variable valve system and 200 PS. So by 1984 the car had gone from 145 PS to 200 PS. These are Japanese-market gross (JIS) figures; export cars and the later 2.6-litre turbo are not covered by them.
