Tredia (A210) · 1982–1988

The Tredia 1.8 (1982 to 1988) is the naturally aspirated large-engine version, using the 1.8-liter 4G62 four-cylinder rated at 100 PS from the 1985 range update. It offered more torque than the 1.6 without the complexity of the Turbo.

STORY

The Tredia was Mitsubishi's four-door sedan, launched in Japan in 1982 alongside its three-door coupe sibling, the Cordia, sharing many parts with the Mirage. Its name joins the Italian tre (three) and dia (diamond), a nod to the three-diamond badge. The 1.6-litre turbo was rated at 115 PS, a Japanese gross figure. A 1.8-litre turbo and a four-wheel-drive version were added later. WebCG ends the Cordia in 1987 and the Tredia in 1988, and a few catalogues give 1990 for overseas sales.
