STORY
Almera was Nissan's European name for the Pulsar-based C-segment car, on sale from late 1995 as the N15, with the 143 PS SR20DE GTi joining a year later as the fast version. The N16 that replaced it was built in Britain: Sunderland started Almera assembly in January 2000 and finished in November 2006 after 639,000 cars and exports to more than 45 countries, with the Note and Qashqai taking its place, while the Almera Tino minivan was built in Barcelona from 2000. The name later moved to other cars. The N17 of October 2011, launched in Thailand and sold across Asia and the Americas as Sunny, Versa and Latio, became the longest-lived Almera of all; Almera Classic, sold in Russia and Ukraine from spring 2006, was a Busan-built Renault Samsung SM3 on N16 underpinnings; and the G15, drawn up for Russia alone, was built at AvtoVAZ in Togliatti from December 2012 until October 2018.
