The Atlas name arrived in December 1981 on the heavier H40 series, taking over from the Caball and the Clipper, and the 1 to 1.5 tonne F22 was announced in February 1982 to replace the Cabstar and the Homer. The F23 that followed in January 1992 was Nissan's own truck, and from June 1995 Nissan supplied it to Isuzu, which sold it as the Elf 100. Its replacement, the F24, was announced on 14 June 2007 and went on sale in Japan six days later and was sold until December 2020; Europe and several Asian markets took the same cab-over as the Cabstar. The heavier end of the range went the other way: from June 1995 Isuzu supplied the 2 to 4 tonne trucks, from November 2012 they came instead from Mitsubishi Fuso as the NT450 Atlas, and from August 2019 Isuzu returned with the F25 diesel.
Light-duty truck line since 1982 (Cabstar abroad): 1-4.5 t cab-over chassis with petrol and diesel fours. The Nissan-built F24 was sold in Japan until December 2020.
